Building My Perfect Weather Station.

In Britain we have this mad obsession with the weather, it's normally the first topic of conversation. I am not sure why, but it's probably due to the fact it changes so much, it’s currently cold and overcast today, this time last week it was warm and sunny. On to my obsession with the weather. I have always been fascinated by science, I even studied it at college, and the weather is one of the most accessible sciences around. It is everywhere and it affects us all as a photographer, it affects me most than others.

What a wild 3 months.

I thought I would write a little blog about my journey over the last three months. I have always had a keen interest in photography, but never had the confidence that my photography was any good. I have always been quiet and suffered from confidence issues over the years, and if anything difficult came along I would run a mile. I have quit good jobs because I hated them.

A few tips for your first exhibition

I recently entered my first image into an exhibition and I thought I would share the tips and experience that I learned from my first submission. I even won a special award. This experience only applies to open exhibitions where anybody is allowed to submit.

Weekly Photography Challenge #1

In order to up my photography skills, I have decided to set myself a weekly photo challenge. Every week I will post a new challenge on a Wednesday, using the hashtag #mcweeklychallenge. There are no prizes for winning, it's just a bit of fun and maybe it will help improve your photography as well.

My wish list for iOS 12

If you are familiar with the way that Apple releases its updates, then you should know that we tend to get a major release around June every year. Here are some of my wishes for the next version of iOS.

How to find the International Space Station(ISS)?

I have always been fascinated by space, and the skies above me, so being able to spot a spaceship going over my head takes me back to my days of watching the space shuttle launch on the telly all those years ago. I have been even more fascinated with space since we had a British Astronaut live on the space station. I can now put together my love of space and photography with a very easy-to-spot presence in the sky. In the first instalment, I will go into more detail on how to locate the ISS, with further posts on

My goals for 2018

I have decided in my blog, to write a post at the beginning of each year to set myself some goals for 2018, and I will review these goals at the end of the year. So here goes!

5 Ways to get you shooting again.

Lets be honest, we all get bored with our hobbies at some point, even the ones that we love. This is often a result of doing the same things over an over, and photography is no different.

Agh! Those sharing buttons again.

I often come across a site, where I see those social sharing buttons on the side of the page, screaming like a naughty child, "look at me". I'll not try to turn this post into a rant, but I have a real bugbear with social media experts and the use of social media buttons on websites.

Why I still wear an Apple Watch?

Just over 2 years ago, Apple released the first Apple Watch as an accessory to the iPhone. I was immediately hooked and wanted one. It is now 2 years later and a lot of people have stopped wearing their smartwatches, so why am I still wearing mine.
