Turning 40 in one more year.

I was given an expected birth date of the 6th February (I still have my wristband that was put on me when I was born to prove it!) but I was late. The funniest thing about my birthday it that it is also my paternal grandmother's birthday as well, so for years it has been a family joke that I waited 5 minutes to be born on this date, or I was 5 minutes late being born.
I have never been the biggest fan of birthdays, as I have always lived life trying to avoid as much fuss as possible and I never liked being in a crowd, so the more informal the better. The fact I am writing this blog is very out of character for me too. So I have decided to write a post on my blog every year to reflect on the last 12 months.
So I am now a year away from the birthday that most people dread, the big 40. They say life begins at 40, and that is exactly what I intend to do. I am going to be more adventurous, get out and wander more, get a new job (Yeah!), get out of that rut I have been stuck in for the last few years. Lets enjoy the ride.
